About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and AutoSolve Labs ("AutoSolve Labs", "we", "us"), which makes and operates Stool Mate, for your use of the Stool Mate iPhone app, its friends features and this website (together, the "Service"). Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data and is part of these terms. If you don't agree to these terms, please don't use the Service.
Not medical advice
Stool Mate is a wellness and habit-tracking tool. It is not a medical device and doesn't diagnose, treat, cure or prevent anything.
- Results, including the Bristol type read from a photo, attributes, trends, insights, the gut score and experiments, are estimates for personal tracking. They can be wrong, and you can edit them.
- The gut score is a bit of fun based on your logging habits, not a health measure.
- Nothing in the Service is medical advice or a substitute for a professional. If something feels off, or you're simply unsure, talk to a doctor. Don't delay or ignore professional advice because of anything in Stool Mate.
- If you think you have an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Stool Mate (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live, if higher). Children under 13 are not allowed to use it. If you're under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission.
- You sign in with Sign in with Apple. Keep your Apple Account secure: you're responsible for activity on your Stool Mate account.
- Your display name must not impersonate anyone or be offensive.
- You can look around in demo mode without an account. Demo data is made up.
Using Stool Mate
We give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the Service for your own, non-commercial purposes. Please don't:
- upload photos that aren't for logging your own entries, or images of other people;
- try to reverse engineer, scrape, overload, probe or get around the Service's security or rate limits, or use automated means to access it;
- use the analysis service for anything other than logging in Stool Mate;
- break the law, or use the Service to harm, harass or deceive anyone.
Friends and challenges
The friends features (invites, leaderboards, head-to-heads, weekly challenges, nudges, reactions and the activity feed) are optional and designed to be friendly. To keep them that way:
- Be kind. No harassment, bullying, threats, hate, sexual content or spam. Nudges and reactions are presets, and they should stay fun.
- Be yourself. Don't impersonate anyone or create accounts to game leaderboards or challenges.
- Play fair. Challenges count logs added by noon the next day. Days you fill in later still count for you, just not for the challenge.
- Respect privacy. Don't try to infer, collect or share other people's data, or pressure friends to share more than they want.
Block and report. You can remove, block or report a friend at any time from their profile or the friends list. They aren't told. Reports come to our moderation team, who review them and may warn, restrict or remove accounts. You can also email [email protected] to report abuse. See how reporting works.
Your content
Your log, notes and settings are yours. They live on your device and in your private iCloud, and we don't claim any ownership of them. Photos you analyse are sent through our server to our AI service provider via OpenRouter, using zero-data-retention routing, only to give you a result, and are then discarded; nobody stores them or uses them for training, as described in our privacy policy. Share cards you create are yours to post wherever you like; you're responsible for where you share them.
For the limited data that does reach our server (your display name and the numbers you choose to share), you give us permission to store and show it to the friends you've connected with, only to run the Service.
Our stuff
The Service, including the app, design, Mo the mascot, the Bristol glyphs, the wordmark and the text, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These terms don't give you any rights to our names, logos or brand. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.
Apple Health and iCloud
Apple Health access is read-only and optional, and Health data is never stored by Stool Mate or sent to us (see the privacy policy). iCloud sync uses your own Apple Account and is subject to Apple's terms. We're not responsible for the availability of Apple's services or for data you delete from iCloud or Apple Health yourself.
Changes and availability
We're always improving Stool Mate, so features may change, and occasionally something may be unavailable. We may update these terms. If a change is material, we'll let you know in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the new terms; if you don't agree, you can stop using it and delete your data.
Ending things
- You can stop at any time. Settings › Delete everything removes your log from your iPhone and your private iCloud, permanently deletes your account on our server and revokes Stool Mate's Sign in with Apple access (how). If you can't open the app, email [email protected] and we'll delete your account for you.
- We may suspend or terminate your access to the friends features or your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other users. Where reasonable we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond. Your on-device log and iCloud data stay yours either way.
- If we ever shut the Service down, we'll give you reasonable notice. Your log will stay on your device and you'll still be able to export it.
Disclaimers
We work hard to make Stool Mate accurate and reliable, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including about accuracy of results, fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on results or insights in the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD 50. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that can't be excluded by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Apple terms
If you downloaded Stool Mate from the App Store, these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and isn't responsible for handling any claims relating to the app (including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims). If the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. You confirm you're not in a country subject to a US government embargo and aren't on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies where these terms don't cover something.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it in your local courts. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country or state where you live. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies, and if we don't enforce a part straight away we can still do so later.
